Lufthansa Flyventure — a year-long social-media game where users completed weekly missions across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare to collect points and unlock travel rewards.

Brief
The mobile app we built for Lufthansa was structured as a year-long social-media game. Users were given weekly missions to complete across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare and were rewarded for completion with points that unlocked a range of travel-related prizes. Each week we shipped a fresh set of missions built around a new concept — check in at the highest point in your city, share an Instagram photo on a sky theme, tell us on Twitter why you want to fly to a particular city — that stayed close to Lufthansa’s headline brand promise while sitting naturally on top of how people already used these platforms. On the back end we wired up an integration layer that verified real mission completion through each of the four platform APIs, plus a leaderboard and a campaign-wide dashboard from which Lufthansa’s marketing team could follow every piece of user-generated content for the full year.
