For The Food Runner, a restaurant-and-driver marketplace launched in California by a Turkish entrepreneur, we shipped three coordinated products on top of a single data model. Customers get a web and iOS/Android ordering experience; restaurants run their kitchen on a tablet app that manages incoming orders and live menu updates; drivers carry a courier app that handles route management and delivery confirmations. Tying the three sides together on one data model made it possible to manage the whole journey — from order to delivery — as a single flow rather than three loosely coupled systems. The visual language puts food photography front and centre and lets each restaurant retain its identity inside the platform, while on the engineering side we prioritised sub-second order propagation from customer tap to restaurant screen. The result gives local restaurants a lower-commission alternative to the big delivery aggregators.
